Founded in 1975, OSA is a coalition of student governments dedicated to the representation, service, and protection of the collective interests of over 100,000 students in postsecondary education.
The Oregon Student Foundation (OSF) is a registered 501(c)(3) founded in 1994 by the Oregon Student Association.
OSF provides the additional support that the student-led OSA needs to ensure that every Oregonian has access to a quality, affordable education.
For 35 years we’ve been developing tomorrow’s leaders and acting as the state’s premiere defender of post-secondary public education.
In 2010 OSA saved an average of $436 per university student in tuition increases.
In the past decade, we’ve secured more than $75 million in funding for the Oregon University System, more than $45 million in funding for Oregon community colleges, and more than $50 million for the Oregon Opportunity Grant.
But we’re not just fighting to keep a public college education affordable.
In the past twenty years we’ve registered more than 200,000 college students to vote, drawn the best and brightest to our nationally renowned student leadership conferences, and delivered thousands of specialized trainings to hundreds of different students groups at our member campuses.
So what’s the secret of our success?
We’re student-led. Whether we’re in the classrooms registering our classmates to vote or in the capitol advocating to keep public education public, students are calling the shots.
By becoming one of our monthly or quarterly donors, your (tax-exempt contribution) helps guarantee every Oregonian has access to a quality, affordable college education.
It takes just a moment to sign up and creates an enormous impact in improving the state of public post-secondary education in Oregon.
