Directed $10 million to institutions of higher education to kick-start efforts to build or expand semiconductor talent programs to meet urgent industry workforce needs and to the Semiconductor Talent Sustaining Fund to invest funds across the education continuum to provide targeted investments in education, training, and research.
SB 1502: School Board Transparency Bill: PASSED
Requires the governing bodies of school districts, education service districts, community college districts and public universities to live stream governing body meetings, if technically practicable, and to post the recordings of the meetings on their official public body websites or social media sites.
SB 1596: Right to Repair: PASSED
Requires manufacturing companies to make the diagnostic tools, information, replacement parts and tools available to consumers and third party repair shops, so Oregonians can more easily and affordably fix their electronic devices and other stuff.
SB 1552: Senate Education Omnibus: PASSED
This omnibus bill covered a lot of areas across the K-12 and Post-Secondary education system. Items that were of particular interest to OSA and students were: the creation of an ODE youth advisory group, the facilitation of direct admission, and a study on requiring education co-requisites.

Prohibits the act of withholding a student's transcript as a debt collection practice at every college and university in Oregon.

Encourages campus stakeholder involvement in Trustee selection;
Requires board transparency and accountability through various mechanisms.

Protects and supports students on college and university campuses who are survivors of sexual assault.
HB 2395 - Opioid Harm Reduction Package: PASSED
Includes a reform to decriminalize fentanyl testing strips and Narcan, allowing students easier access to distribute harm reduction materials on campus.

Requires the Department of Corrections and Higher Education Coordinating Commission to co-coordinate prison education for incarcerated students.
